The ultrasonic output power and amplitude can be easily adjusted to meet the users needs. The power supply has a frequency meter to easily adjust to the optimum performance coupled with the power meter. The whole head assembly glides up and down for semi-automatic feeding, especially needed when engraving cameos with a die. A solid worktable is provided to hold the material. With the increased power and new design the LUD-400BA is capable of drilling up to 30 mm and engraving/millingup to 20+ mm.

This exceptional new machine combines the best of two drilling methods, The ultrasonic drill for fast drilling in hard materials and rotary drilling using diamond drill tips. This uses a proprietary design and plating process for the diamond drills which enhances the drilling process with this unique machine. It extends drill life. It reduces processing stess to almost eliminate broken material. Drilling of 1.0mm holes can be done to a depth of 10mm and the .8mm drill can drill a depth of 5mm. Drills FIVE times faster than either standard ultrasonic or rotary drilling. The drill tips typically yield about 50 holes per tip depending on depth and material. This also has a dial gauge to set depth of cut. The head can be adjusted up and down with the power motor. The feed is by gravity and comes with extra weights.
The combined rotary and ultrasonic motion is excellant for drilling most hard and or brittle materials like agate, SIC, ruby, glass, technical ceramics and semi conductor waffer.
The unit comes with a standard table for holding or clamping material. This can also be used for beads with the notch in the standard table. Other standard items are 20 diamond drill tips, and three extra collets. Extra diamond drill tips are $49.50 for 25 tips (specify size- .8, 1.0, ???).
